The Government Finance Function exists to enable the delivery of high-quality public services and to ensure that public money is spent efficiently and effectively. We are responsible for supporting the management of over £800 billion of public expenditure each year, as well as over £2,000 billion in assets and £4,500 billion of liabilities.
