The GFF Career Framework aligns with the GFF Strategy 2030 linked to the "skilled and talented" objective. It underpins the employee lifecycle in government finance and feeds into multiple areas of the people and capability offer including:

  • the Government Finance Academy (GFA) strategy and informing our future learning curriculum
  • talent management and succession planning
  • apprenticeships and future training routes
  • resourcing and recruitment
The launch and evolution of the Framework represents a defining moment for the function, and an exciting opportunity to:
  • define the Government Finance Function of the future
  • set consistent expectations for roles across the function
  • change the way we think about ourselves define a baseline against which we can measure ourselves and our population
  • help realise the ambitions of our people and align with GFF priorities
The Framework helps us to achieve these aims by providing:
  • a set of standards for roles across the function
  • tools for career and talent development
  • materials to influence and standardise recruitment practice induction materials, at both departmental and functional level
  • a framework for use in performance management
