Role summary

Management Accounting HEOs are responsible for routine month end activities, ensuring accuracy and providing insight, which support the team to produce financial reports, combined with engagement with Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders, adding value to reporting.

Typical Role Responsibilities

Management Accounting HEOs:

are expected to undertake routine month-end activities in line with reporting timescales, reviewing and interpreting data to ensure accuracy of reporting and provide insight into the numbers.
prepare financial reports for discrete areas of the business, and may support production of reports for larger areas.
engage with Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders (which may include budget holders) to share information and add the value to financial reporting.
may be responsible for preparing journals and uploading budgets and forecasts in more complex areas.
build collaborative relationships with other finance colleagues to support the business.

Level 4 qualification with AAT, CCAB or CIMA

Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent

Responsibilities

Tasks

Ensure the integrity of transactions on financial systems, ensuring good controls and checks are in place to maintain accuracy
Use the management reports to provide meaningful and insightful analysis for senior managers and decision makers
Undertake all month end activities, including approving journals, budget profiling and accurate forecasting
Provide explanations for significant changes in forecast and actuals; provide updates on issues and risks to senior managers
Produce high quality reports and insightful management information for senior managers
Build collaborative relationships with other finance colleagues to support the business.
